Wooden supports play an important role in many fields of construction and engineering. Understanding its technical requirements is crucial to ensuring the safety and efficiency of the project.

First of all, the design should follow the principles of standardization, serialization, and generalization, and adopt the method of component assembly. Regardless of the material used, the construction drawing design and strength and stability verification should be carried out. The long rod joints of wooden supports and wooden arches should be minimized, and the connection joints of two adjacent columns should be set on different horizontal planes.

When making wooden supports, for the extension connection of the main pressure rod, it is advisable to use the butt joint method and clamp it with wooden plywood or iron plywood, and the secondary component connection can be overlapped. Before installation, carefully check the arch column and the supporting surface, accurately adjust the supporting surface and the top elevation, re-measure the span, and the elevation of each arch at the same node should be as consistent as possible. High supports should be equipped with sufficient oblique connections, fasteners or wind ropes to ensure lateral stability.

During the installation process, the foundation for installing the column must have sufficient bearing capacity, and the column section should be equipped with pads to distribute and transfer pressure to prevent excessive settlement after pouring concrete. After the installation is completed, the plane position, top elevation, node connection, and longitudinal and lateral stability should be fully checked. When pouring concrete or laying arch rings, the deformation and settlement of the bracket should be measured and recorded at any time.

If it is in an area with strong winds, a wind cable should also be installed to stabilize it. In addition, for brackets located on soft soil foundations or uneven soft and hard foundations, it is advisable to eliminate uneven settlement and inelastic deformation through pre-compression. The technical requirements for wooden brackets are strict and meticulous. Only by ensuring that each link meets the standards can the project be carried out smoothly.
